Acupuncture is more than just a treatment—it’s a path to whole-body wellness. At Be Well,

Dr. Wendy skillfully integrates ancient knowledge with modern insight and intuitive awareness, treating the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.

Rooted in thousands of years of Eastern medicine, acupuncture offers a gentle, effective way to support healing from the inside out. Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice based in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves the insertion of ultra-fine, sterile needles at specific points along the body’s meridians—energy pathways that influence your physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. By stimulating these points, acupuncture encourages the body’s own healing response, improving circulation, calming the nervous system, reducing inflammation, and supporting organ function.

Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, stress, digestive issues, or simply want to feel more aligned and energized, acupuncture can help bring your body back into a natural state of balance.

Understanding the Meridians: Your Body’s Energy Pathways

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), meridians are the energetic pathways that flow throughout the body, connecting organs, tissues, and systems—both physically and energetically. Think of them like a network of invisible rivers that carry Qi (pronounced “chee”)—your vital life force or energy. When Qi flows freely, you experience health, vitality, and emotional balance. But when this flow is blocked, stagnant, or depleted, it can lead to discomfort, illness, or emotional distress.

There are 12 primary meridians, each associated with a specific organ system (like the Liver, Heart, Lungs, or Kidneys) and energetic function. These meridians aren’t just about physical organs—they relate to broader patterns like digestion, immunity, emotional processing, hormonal balance, and even sleep and mood.

How Acupuncture Works With Meridians

Acupuncture points lie along these meridians. By gently stimulating specific points, acupuncture:

  • Releases energetic blockages

  • Restores balance between organ systems

  • Encourages the smooth flow of Qi and blood

  • Harmonizes the body’s physical and emotional states

For example, someone with anxiety and insomnia might receive treatment along the Heart and Pericardium meridians, which help regulate the mind and emotions. Someone with digestive discomfort may be treated along the Stomach or Spleen meridians, supporting digestion and nutrient absorption.

Even if you don’t fully “feel” these energy channels at first, your body responds. Many patients report feeling more grounded, calm, and balanced after just one treatment—evidence that Qi is moving and restoring harmony.
